The paid post is late this week because I just didn’t have my shit together. Sorry this is only coming to you now! Spoilers for Don’t Worry Darling follow.

It is still Don’t Worry Darling release week in the United States of My Brain, but I promise this is my last DWD Dispatch. After this I am fully devoting myself to Tár. This week I have a little fact check: what’s plausible and what’s junk science in the Olivia Wilde thriller? I called an expert, Toronto-based game designer and developer Carlo Spidla to talk through the schematics of The Victory Project. 

I mean, first things first: does the technology exist to make such an immersive game that a husband could trap a wife in?
No, definitely not right now. We don't have the level of immersion that you would see in a movie like that, where it's basically so immersive that it can't be told from reality. We do have photo-realistic worlds. But I don't think that yet carrie…
