February 2024 and What I Watched

Remy was at boarding school all of February, so all I did was watch movies this month. As of press time, I finished the J.Lo doc and am watching the newest season of True Detective, a show that I have to watch with my hands covering my eyes. (I’m still so in the middle of it that felt premature to include it here.) One-eyed polar bears, pollution and corruption, dead people setting it off in the middle of the night, but the part of the show I cannot get over — I mean it tickles me in every scene — is Jodie Foster’s hair.

If Station Eleven was made by people who weren’t very-on-Tumblr, like, in a good way.

Watching Girls makes me exceedingly happy that I missed almost all of the discourse around that show, and can just appreciate it as-is. I feel the opposite about The Leftovers; I have The Leftovers all over my face and hands. I have so many Leftovers conversations to have and no one to have…
