Jennifer Lopez — actress, singer, inventor of the nude glossy lip — is making a skincare line. Considering the amount of time I think about skincare and the amount of time I think about celebrities, it feels a little improbable that I care so little for celebrity skincare lines. Conceptually, they have never made sense to me: What does Selena Gomez or Kylie Jenner, or even Rihanna for that matter, know about my skin? (I’m sure they know about their skin. But my skin is a fussy girl, and only a precise cocktail of exfoliants, masks, and prescriptions stops her from doing what she wants to do, which is get big mad and break out.) Why would I use the products Pharrell introduced yesterday, and not the products he’s been using for the past 15 years? Like I said: Hmm.

But celebrity skincare lines are like the new celebrity fragrances, and now JLo Beauty exists. Lopez has been promoting it on various beaut…
