My cup runneth over: There is so much culture happening this weekend! Love is Blind S3 dropping, Topdog/Underdog opening on Broadway, Banshees of Inisherin opening, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis fussing via Nora Ephron quotes, Midnights, new Carly Rae Jepsen (good, particularly “Bends,” but the whole thing sounds like what the Charlie Puth album should’ve been!), new Arctic Monkeys. AND I have to buy out every movie theater in Brooklyn so my mother Julia Roberts gets the opening weekend she deserves! All day I have been afraid that this will be like October 2018, when I was so caught up in the throes of art — seeing A Star Is Born for the fourth time — that I forgot to call my dad on his birthday.
