I agree that The Handmaiden is superior! But to me Park operates on a whole other level than most filmmakers so from him even “just a good movie” looks and feels so much sleeker and funnier than most stuff I’ve seen this year
I would love a Delroy Lindo nom for the simple fact that his flowers are more than overdue and he legit had me believing he was reacting to that garlic! (Then I ate a clove and had the same reaction)
I thought Tessa Thompson was sensationally good in Hedda and have been baffled she’s not been a part of the Oscar conversation. I’d also love to see Joel Edgerton nominated for Train Dreams.
I think a nom for Odessa would be totally deserved but I kinda really loved Gwyneth’s performance in the movie and I think if she somehow snuck in, it would be more than just a “we know her!” comeback nod. And I hope the Julia Roberts shoutout helped get Sorry Baby over the finish line for a Screenplay nomination.
And as someone whose favorite movie is Almost Famous and who has been waiting for Kate Hudson to find a role worthy of a follow-up Oscar nom, I am going to fully freak out if she gets in tomorrow for Song Sung Blue over Amanda Seyfried for Ann Lee, which I thought was the performance of the year.
it's a good performance - based on energy alone - but it's too anachronistic & contemporary. Yes, Marty is out-of-step with his time & place, but he still needs feel like he conceivably could exist in 1952. I couldn't stop picturing leo circa 2001 in the role bc I think he could've balanced that line better.
my nominees would be michael b jordan, leo, wagner moura, jesse plemons, and prob jacob elordi.
Miles Caton in (kind of category fraud) Supporting Actor would be so well deserved! Also thought Joel Edgerton was sooo quietly devastating in Train Dreams and would love for him to get in, too.
Joel Edgerton for Train Dreams is my biggest longshot hope--he deserves it for a beautiful movie and performance. My other favorite performance (Rose Byrne) will get the nom but I'm rooting so hard for her to win it. I'm also rooting for Benicio del Toro and Chase Infiniti, and Bugonia generally.
If best picture can have ten nominees, so can Best Actress in Supporting Role! I want to see Gwyneth and Elle announced along Odessa and Inga, and Regina and Teyana.
I would love Tessa Thompson, Nina hoss, and Nia dacosta to be recognized for Hedda. Amanda seyfried nominated but rose Byrne winning. Dylan O’Brien nominated. Regina Hall nominated (I know it’s small but I’ve thought about her in that movie more than anyone else). Delroy lindo and Andrew Scott nominated in supporting. Also loved Naomi ackie in sorry baby but that category feels very full
Prayer circle for a Benicio del Toro nom over Sean Penn 🕯️
i can’t believe we even live in a world that might give f1 a best picture nom…reheated tom cruise’s nachos tbh
and SAY IT
hey, so.....................
Inga’s performance in Sentimental Value is my favourite of the whole year I hope she gets in
In a just world Park Chan-Wook is nominated in Best Director for No Other Choice
i didnt like it as much as i thought i would! the handmaiden is such a masterpiece and no other choice is just a good movie
I agree that The Handmaiden is superior! But to me Park operates on a whole other level than most filmmakers so from him even “just a good movie” looks and feels so much sleeker and funnier than most stuff I’ve seen this year
My dream nom is Eva Victor for original screenplay 1000%
i think this can happen!
I really hope it does!! 🤞🏼✨
I would love a Delroy Lindo nom for the simple fact that his flowers are more than overdue and he legit had me believing he was reacting to that garlic! (Then I ate a clove and had the same reaction)
This!!!!
YES!
Would love to see individual noms for Eva Victor- actor/ess, director, screenplay- something!
I thought Tessa Thompson was sensationally good in Hedda and have been baffled she’s not been a part of the Oscar conversation. I’d also love to see Joel Edgerton nominated for Train Dreams.
amazon studios has such difficulty promoting dramas! love her in hedda though

I love Kate and the public needs to remember her for more than just Fabletics!
i want kate hudson to do something with goldie that's not ... Snatched ... like why is amy schumer working with your iconic mother, queen
oooh this is the final plug i needed to watch song sung blue!
*whispers* I wouldn't nominate Timmy....
and say more...!

he did deserve the golden globe for cinematic and box office achievement for turning marty supreme into a hit via sheer force of will!
Miles Caton in (kind of category fraud) Supporting Actor would be so well deserved! Also thought Joel Edgerton was sooo quietly devastating in Train Dreams and would love for him to get in, too.
would love miles caton in supporting actor (and in that category so he doesnt split votes between him and mbj)

I’ve thought about that movie and his performance for weeks since watching it. So so beautiful.
Anything for “No Other Choice” would be happy-making, but my pie in the sky nom dream is for Lee Byung-hun. ! Obsessed.
It would never happen but I want a Dylan O’Brien nom for Twinless 😭 one of my fav performances of the year
love dylan! a hungie!
Wait!!!!! This slipped my mind but 100% agree!
I just watched this and was so impressed! My boy deserves something besides my affection and esteem.

jfkdl;sjfkd well, no (re 10 noms)
