I COMPLETELY AGREE. I dislike both Chelsea and Jimmy, but while Chelsea is the more obvious problem with her anxiousness and her outbursts, Jimmy is the real devil. Having a great date and asking her if she would say yes at the altar just to say that he would say no was cruel. He wanted that one reassurance that she was obsessed with him before he emotionally eviscerated her (Clay did the same thing to AD at the altar). He knew from the second he saw her he was going to say no. People were calling him "kind" for dumping her the night before, even though that is only slightly better. All this sex, meeting friends and family, and wedding planning while he did not sincerely mean a thing. That's chilling, given how mad he acted when she drunkenly admitted she didn't believe he loved her - which was proven right.

Chelsea's paranoia about Jimmy's friend made sense when she said all her past boyfriends cheated on her with their female friends. If Chelsea had a guy best friend she slept with in the past, Jimmy would've flipped, but in a more subdued, avoidant type way. I would really compare this couple to Season 2's Danielle and Nick. Danielle and Chelsea even look similar, I think that misogyny that exploded over the Megan Fox comment overshadowed the bigger picture.

I also think Jimmy was playing the edit HARD! My theory is he wasn’t attracted to Chelsea from the get go but knew he would be edited into a villian if he broke things off because of that (and he probably wasn’t wrong). So he decided to play the devoted fiancé until he could find a “valid” aka publicly acceptable reason to break it off. Chelsea outing his deepest darkest secret (lol) was that reason. Would certainly explain the “right instinct wrong response” of it all!

Kim’s right about that feeling - knowing someone’s not into it but won’t say it - it truly sux & is ripe for self sabotage if you don’t have the tools to navigate. That’s where i sympathized with Chelsea even tho she drove the chaos & is annoying

Jimmy was always drinking loser ass juice. He never liked Chelsea and Chelsea knew it. He was never genuine with his intent to be with her and seemed to be playing in her face. But Chelsea just wasn't secure enough to call him on his BS. She wanted to believe him enough for him to stay interested in her.

chelsea is just not that annoying to me…she seems like an old friend who I don’t agree with/have a ton in common with necessarily but who I do understand. like I could imagine her explaining it all to me over drinks and me being like, yeah maybe you’re being insecure but also you’re not insecure for no reason. drinking and being on tv don’t bring out the best in anyone. jimmy *is* manipulative and also…weak

Honestly it really is just misogyny. If Chelsea "wasn't so shrill" the audience would've had more scrutiny for Jimmy. It's really sad too because this show is just an exercise in pairing ready and genuine women with increasingly sadistic Batman-esque villains for our entertainment and we should be able to enjoy it for that reason

lights on, no one’s home is the perfect description of jimmy. his stoicism was the perfect foil to Chelsea’s insecurities to the point where they just kept reflecting back on her tenfold until she melted into the concrete. i speak as someone with BPD when i say again that she displays textbook BPD symptoms, i.e. chronically seeking validation and absolutely spiralling when it’s anything short of “you are perfection”, feeling high off of any compliment but then so low after a fight/conflict to the point of begging him to stay. it’s actually devastating for me to watch her be dragged through the mud publicly bc it’s so clearly rooted in some deep shit. but not surprising to me either!

“Right instinct, wrong response”. Need this on me at all times

Can anyone explain why everyone on the show is talking in rhetorical questions?? “Do I think he is so and so.... Yes, but...” “Do I think blah is blahing, no, but....” it’s out of control . Granted, I’m a foreigner but do people really talk like this ??

I have been ruminating on some thoughts. What if this whole thing was a revenge plan by Jimmy for getting ‘duped’ that Chelsea told him she looked like Megan Fox. What if he played a long game with his ultimate plan to humiliate her at the end. It was weird how he fished in that final date for her to say she would say yes at the alter and then said NAH! Just feels extra cruel and calculated! I don’t know maybe I’m watching to much true crime 🙃.

THANK YOU. I have thought this as well... although it didn't help that I was simultaneously reading a book on narcissistic relationships and suddenly saw narcissists everywhere!! His reactions in the pods never matched the words he was saying back to the women, he always projected blame when confronted, and the lack of breaking things off with Jess directly and then claiming SHE broke things off with HIM.

He was doing the same shit as Matthew, just a little less serial-killer-y. God the standards we have for men are SO LOW.

ALSO!! Remembering every single kiss he gave her in a day?! That's a planning man. Sure, he could say "I knew Chelsea would come for me" but all I see is a man not wanting to kiss someone but knowing he had to so he PLANNED awkward ass kisses just to be able to recall them.

... I'm just realizing I will never be able to be in a relationship because I'm walking through a minefield of triggers out here.

Is this a safe enough space to share that when I first saw Matthew and his little survey questions he reminded me of my husband?! And I texted my friend to share that and she said "Yeah, he reminded me of [my husband] too" ..........

Nothing else about Matthew & his psychosis is similar!!!! But there is def a resemblance re: both beefy, taciturn data collectors. I'm somewhat shaken
