That final (K)endall (L)ogan (R)oy scene had me whispering "don't kill yourself, don't kill yourself" over and over. Him hiring Dad's bodyguard/driver actually came in useful but did not calm my nerves much.
Also: that dinner video showed Con within Logan's inner circle (such that it was). Laughing, making fun of his dad and getting away with it. It was a comfort and intimacy we've never seen with any of the other kids. Great final eff you from Connor to the greedy, needy love sponges. I felt happy for his little teapot.
The eternal struggle of the Roy kids being able to immediately clock their siblings’ bullshit but never their own. Any advantage one of them could get was always lost because of that dynamic and Tom was good at finding the gap to get his foot in while they were distracted.
thank you hunter for these wonderful round ups! before watching the finale i really wanted an ending that would justify a sequel called “roman’s revenge” but i fear he’s the only kid that’s not delulu and thus will not seek revenge. the last scene with siobhan and tom in the car really made something in me furious, even if i dont pity her character
Okay, no one has said it so I’ll be that person — the song Karl sang is “Green grow the rashes O”, a famous (and kind of dirty) Robbie Burns song, so Scottish, not Irish. Like everything else in Succession, there are layers to the scene. The classic modern recording is by a Scottish Marxist, so I’ll just leave that there. Hunter, I will miss these, in some ways they are what kept me watching a pretty gruelling work of art.
Not my mom predicting the finale... I’ve convinced her to watch the show throughout season 1 she was like “Tom’s so stupid! He can’t stay like this...”
Logan told all the kids it would be them at some point, but I found it extra funny that Kendall thought he had the most legitimate claim because Logan promised it to him.
