Having read the post-divorce interviews by both Jennifer Afflecks (Vanity Fair, 2015; Interview, 2024), from a gossip standpoint I wish JLo had gotten into specifics! But by God did she keep the focus on *herself*, no names named!
I agree with a lot of the "Nobody Wants This" criticism (and compiled a number of articles about it in my newsletter this week) and it annoys me that, as you pointed out, Erin's answers to the criticism don't really address the core criticism at all.
Thanks for mentioning the Sparks NYT feature -- hadn't seen that yet and I'm in the midst of his new novel right now.
i do think there’s some good stuff in the show too! i like the brother-sister odd couple romance, honestly what kept me watching was hoping they’d get together. i like the sister dynamic but not necessarily the podcast. a shame that a lot of real development in either of the lovers’ lives was hampered in favor of “what does shalom mean.” we get it! she’s self-involved! the gay dad thing also felt so cringe
i said this on the pod, but too much of the relationship building happens through him just explaining judaism. if i were in that position, it would so othering to have to explain the most basic and significant relationship of my life (my faith) to my significant other
Always such a bummer when hot ones gets included in these critiques of gimmicky interviews because it's very clear that the team on that show do their research and work hard to ask interesting questions that the guests seem to really enjoy.

My money is that S2 will see an overhaul of those characters. At least I hope so

Nooo! I'd be so disappointed if Sasha cheated (with Morgan or anyone).
I hope so too!
Biding my time in the shadows until the world turns on the hot ones guy.....my personal jokerfication
Ok ever since Hustlers I just feel JLo is v powerful in animal print
Can confirm that Joker 2 is BAD bad, like I thought it was gonna be Cats (2019) bad but no I just hated it
I don't get the Nobody Wants This hype either! And I LOVED Seth Cohen an embarrassing amount
