I cried several times watching Marcel, so if you are going for a good therapeutic cry, it's a good choice - but it's sadder and heavier than I expected. Still a great movie though.
Prepare yourself for some *very* heavy-handed references to the nature of elections and the modern world lol (I enjoyed Conclave but it is not a subtle film)
is that the trip where luann screams at everyone for being late to dinner and the camera follows alex just wandering around the house crying and fighting?? because absolutely underrated trip
Yes!! I think they yell at Alex for entering the room โthe wrong wayโ and I am pretty sure that at a dinner afterwards Luann says, โeven Louis Vuitton makes mistakes,โ re: Alexโs LV sandals.
Because I work thru stress by cooking (and bc I'm dumb) I'm hosting a dinner party where each dish corresponds to a candidate. Jerk chicken biryani vs doughnuts.
Ok hitting some SATC reruns and during the ep where Samantha gets a chemical peel before the book launch and I gotta say mad respect to the rich ladies of the past out in the trenches as lab rats burning their faces off so we could get better facials today
No but she forced her to go and then shamed and bullied her to leave. Carrie and Lorelei/Rory are characters than create great tv but damn they disturb my peace a little too much
Not that itโs great intel but a lot of signs point to not knowing tomorrow night + it might take more time so line up lots of media content!!
Iโve made some headway this weekend with Sense&Sensibility and Cinderella (1997) so I think I might zone out to The Age of Innocence on Criterion and/or When Harry Met Sally
Over the past few week, I've been watching random episodes of Little House on the Prairie (Roku TVs have a channel that plays it nonstop) and its honestly been so comforting to turn it on and curl up with a bowl of ramen after work.
I'm currently reading Little House in the Big Woods to my son and it's also very comforting. Give me detailed descriptions of how to make butter pats in the shape of strawberries, please, and keep them coming
I'm in Canada (brag, but also I have even less control over this election cuz I can't vote) and for the last couple of years my husband and I have been watching the X-Files on Tuesday nights. We're now in the truly terrible 2018 season, where they're openly commenting on modern day politics for the first time (that I noticed, anyway). So either it'll be a harbinger of doom, or a reminder of what we all narrowly avoided.
GBBO is such a good suggestion. Iโm also considering finally watching Marcell the Shell With Shoes On

Going to see Conclave!! I want my political thriller to be of the papal nature tomorrow lol

i'm going to write about conclave at some point but i wanted it to be 10% more ... More
I might have tapped on โMoreโ twice thinking it was Substack cutting off the comment lol
This is exactly what I'm doing tomorrow afternoon.
The sound of housewives screaming is the only thing keeping me calm.
I might revisit the RHONY vacations. I really love the trip to Morocco. Theyโre all just the worst. Fights about hangers? Much better than the news.
Morocco >> Scary Island

In Rihannaโs comments section, watching her fight people online like itโs the 2010โs
LOL
Sike Iโm really going to turn my phone off and will watch something on Netflix

omg i love this
As someone who stress bakes, I love this.
Wait this sounds so good though lol and fun!
"Hungies" is so funny and so gross it makes me laugh every time I think about it

This is such a good episode. Also, further evidence of Carrieโs narcissistic behavior for making Sam attend that event! I could never

Currently rewatching Gilmore Girls and YES maternal emeshment to the max.

Ngl probably will be fully leaning into Hallmark Christmas movies
I thought Iโd be the only one to admit to that ๐ Hallmark Christmas movies are the best to watch to avoid all things election!!

A Very Merry Bridesmaid
A Christmas Melody
Christmas in Harmony
Christmas Comes Twice
A Christmas Treasure
Heaven Down Here
Holly and Ivy
The Sweetest Christmas

It's Christmas, Eve
Catch Me If You Claus
Christmas List
Marry Me at Christmas

The new ones started up last month and you can watch most of them on Peacock
Period, will do๐ฅฐ
I will openly admit to enjoying these movies! They were big comfort watches for me during the first administration
I just started Girlfriends, I love it
omg i need to watch it properly!
Election day also coincides with National Chicken Finger Day so I might just order a questionable amount of chicken strips and go wild

The Age of Innocence...what a perfect movie. Marty really freaked it when he made that one
age of innocence yessss

this is me and The Love Boat channel on Pluto. It's the TV equivalent of a warm hug and I love seeing all the guest stars.
Booked tickets to go see Anora just so I have two hours and twenty minutes of curtailed phone access!
